Eating in Class: Marshmallows and Icing

My 4th hour class is an interesting group. They are very lively and fun. I allow them to have snacks because it is right before lunch and the smells of food fill the air constantly. Two students, however, shock me on a daily basis.

One student somehow buys an ice cream cone almost every single day and brings it to class. Another one always eats 3 cookies and an assortment of chips, crackers, drinks, etc. But last week and today they surprised me even more.

I looked over to see one of them eating chocolate icing from the can! My mouth dropped open. She said she had to bring it for a project but got hungry. Today a student walked in with a bag of s'mores size marshmallows. Of course he still had his lemonade and 3 cookies to eat as well. I can understand eating terribly as a teen, I did too, but these kids crack me up!

Have your students surprised you?
Mine do something wild almost every day. What crazy stories do you have to share?
